Douglas Turner

Douglas is responsible for teaching and preaching the Word of God at Emmanuel Baptist Church, and for leading the Church to fulfill God’s mission of taking the Good News to our neighbors and the nations.

Family

Douglas and his wife Catherine are both the children of pastors. They met in Upstate New York where they served God at two churches before relocating to serve another church in Metro-Atlanta, Georgia. They relocated to Stanton in 2016 to join their hearts with Emmanuel Baptist Church. They have five children: Micaela (married to Max Nash), Cameron (married to Bethany), Kelsey (married to Jon Brooks), Moriah, and Madison, and has one granddaughter, Teagan. Douglas also serves as a Battalion Chaplain for the 103rd BSB in the Kentucky Army National Guard.

Other Interests

Douglas loves serving God on-mission overseas. His journeys have led him to serve in nearly 20 countries around the globe, including time in Europe, Asia, Africa, and South America. In addition, he loves golfing, hiking, and fishing. When he is not doing any of these, he is probably watching some form of a sport on television. His favorite teams are the Dallas Cowboys and Manchester United Football Club.

Education

Douglas holds a B.A. in Political Science from Messiah College, a M.Div. in Pastoral Studies from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary.
