We are having a celebration, and YOU are invited! This year, Emmanuel Baptist Church celebrates her 20th Anniversary, and to celebrate, we are having four nights of special services, and we want the whole community to come.
Beginning August 12, and continuing through August 15, we will hold nightly services at 7 PM. You can even come early at 6 and join us for a special fellowship time each night. Come experience wonderful, inspiring music, and a message straight from God’s Word. Bro. Keith Joseph, a former pastor at EBC, will be returning from Georgia to deliver the messages each evening.
The Tuesday night service will feature music from the Townsmen Quartet, a wonderful singing group featuring Stanton’s own Bro. Ben Liston.
After years of wear and tear, the flooring in the Worship Center is seriously in need of replacement. After collecting multiple quotes, and speaking to many vendors, the Deacons and Pastor are recommending replacing the carpet in the Worship Center with a safe, convenient, multi-purpose flooring. The Church has approved the project, contingent on sufficient giving from the Congregation.
But we need your help!
On 4/29/2018, we will begin taking collections for a special offering to replace all the flooring in the Worship Center. To complete this project, we will need $45,000 to be raised by the Congregation. The product we have chosen will be safe for UPWARD and youth activities, durable, easy to clean, good for fellowship meetings, and pleasing to the eye!
What can you do?
- Ask God what He wants you to give.
- Bring your best offering, over and above your regular giving on 4/29.
- Make a pledge for on-going support.
We will not begin the work UNTIL we have received $45,000 in pledges AND have collected $25,000 in cash. Let’s do all that we can to kick this project off right on 4/29!
Together, Transforming the Future through Sacrificial Giving.
The Pastor, in cooperation with the Deacons and the Budget and Finance Team, have called a Special Business Meeting on 4/15, to consider two projects aimed at improving our facilities. Please join us after church to hear about these exciting opportunities, and to see how you can be a part! A pot-luck will follow immediately after service, with a presentation during the luncheon. Please bring a dish to share. All are welcome to attend.
A “red-letter day” is a day that you will always remember because something good happened to you on that day. A red-letter day is any day of special significance or opportunity. Its roots are in classical antiquity; for instance, important days are indicated in red in a calendar dating from the Roman Republic. Many calendars still indicate special dates in red instead of black.
But of all the Red Letters, the most important are the words of Jesus Christ, preserved for us in the Bible. These words, written in red in so many of our Bibles, and uttered by Christ from the Cross, remind us of something good that happened in the face of something that seemed so tragic. Join us each week for “Red-Letter Day.”
March 18, 11 AM: “Father, forgive them…”
March 25, 11 AM: “I thirst…”
March 30, 7 PM: “It is finished…”
April 1, 11 AM: “Today you will be with me in Paradise…”
Here’s a wonderful opportunity for you to serve the Lord by serving His Church! Please join us for a Church Work Day. Let’s keep God’s House safe and clean! Please join us Saturday, February 24, from 9:00 AM until the work is done.
Projects have been identified, and supplies will be made available. All we need is for you to invest a bit of time, and some elbow-grease.
The Christmas Experience is an event for the entire family. During this event, families will spend time creating gingerbread houses, decorating ornaments, judging a cookie contest, and enjoying a meal together.
This event, which is open to the whole community, will be hosted by Emmanuel Baptist Church and will take place on Sunday December 17th, 2017 from 5:00-7:00 PM. It will be held at the Church, across from the Powell County Middle School.
Although the event is free we do ask that you take a moment to register online so we can plan accordingly.
Fields of Faith is a student-led event, sponsored by the Powell County Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Students invite, pray for, share with, and challenge their fellow students to read the Bible and follow Jesus Christ. The Powell County High School Football Field will provide a rally point where our whole community can come together. There will be games, testimonies, and guest speakers. Please join us, Sunday, October 29.
